The website is finally in development!
I've been pouring most of my attention and energy into the actual book, so now that it's nearly ready for the editor, I've finally been able to carve out some time to start tinkering with this thing.
It's pretty bare-bones at the moment, but it's nice to have a centralized place to point everything. With artwork being commissioned, query letters going out, and me spiraling at the thought of sending my book to someone who will actually give me hard feedback and suggest changes, it's good to have something to occupy my time and distract me from pacing the halls of my my mind while all these moving pieces come together.
The website isn't actually live yet, so writing this feels a little like talking to myself. In a way, I guess I am. And while I'm mostly posting this to give the site a bit of texture and character as it's being built, it's also nice to have somewhere to direct my focus for the time being.
So yeah, if you're reading this six months from now or whenever the book/site is published, welcome to my madness. This is what being a writer looks like for me—spending a whole lot of time talking to my own imagination, hoping that one day other people will want to hear it as well.
